Who are we?

In response to the increasing number of expats asking for advice on home financing issues, Henk and Chris decided in 2006 to set up an independent company, devoted entirely to providing expats with mortgage advice in the language they do understand. Expat Mortgages, opened its doors in January 2007 and speaks your language!

  

Chris van Maasdijk was born and raised in Amsterdam and is the proud father of 4 children.

Chris has a 12-year track record in the financial services sector as a financial planner and mortgage consultant. From 1996 Chris worked as an all-round consultant for his own company, an independent insurance and mortgage brokerage. After selling his company to the Herenvest Groep in 2004 he spent 2 years working as a financial planner for entrepreneurs and private individuals.
Chris is of course in possession of all relevant certificates and permits needed to provide advice as an independent mortgage consultant. In his spare time he plays the drums for the band Buckwheat and he loves to scuba dive.

 

Henk Jansen was born and raised in Amsterdam by a Dutch father and an Irish mother.
He is married to Illona and has 2 children: Larissa and Roy.

As a mortgage consultant and manager, he built several companies for others since 1988. In 1999 Henk started, together with partners, the Herenvest Groep, where he specialized in expat services since 2002.
He is an accredited mortgage consultant, an amateur football trainer and amateur football player. He is crazy about sport and is a true bon vivant, whose favourite leisure activities include travelling and going out for diner. Besides being an inspired consultant, he is a born networker as well.

Bart van Heijst - Advisor

Bart was born and raised in Zaandam, a city just north of Amsterdam and well known for its windmills. He is married to Nancy and they have two children, Max and Summer. After graduating as a Bachelor in International Business and Languages, Bart started working at Stad Rotterdam Verzekeringen, an insurance company, in 1998. He worked with this company for 9 years, the last two as Team Manager of the Front Office at Fortis ASR. He then decided to make a career change to commerce and started as Account Manager at Legal & General Life Insurance. In this period he got to know Expat Mortgages. During the meetings with Henk and Chris a mutual respect had grown and when Expat Mortgages decided to expand the consultation force, Bart was the perfect candidate to fulfill this position. In his spare time Bart is a soccer trainer and coach at the team of his son. He likes several sports, and camping and spending time with his family outdoors is a favorite activity. Bart is a very passionate mortgage consultant and his goal is to make the mortgage process as comfortable for the customer as possible with the best possible result.

Richardo Cruz Fortes - Office

Richardo was born and raised in Amsterdam and has Cape Verdean roots.
He is married to Nihal and has 1 daughter: Zahara.
In his spare time he likes to play soccer and he is intriged by the Arabic culture.
After a period of working at Rabobank as mortgages administrator he searched for more and decided to be a member of the team of Expat Mortgages.
